Tapfuma Gutsa

Born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1956, Tapfuma Gutsa was educated at a mission school and later received three years of formal art training at the prestigious London School of Art through a British Council Scholarship to City and Guilds. Said to "stand outside of the mainstream of sculptors in Zimbabwe," Gutsa has ventured into new iconography in an attempt to reinterpret traditional sculpture.
